Peregrine Falcon pointed out to me the other day that it’s not all fun and games being a superhero.
I was forced to agree. It has its moments: the public adulation, the recognition, the fact that superheroes eat for free in restaurants (apparently not all restaurant managers are aware of this).
But my faithful companion had a point, as he occasionally does. Every now and then I am impressed by his ability to do whatever it is he does. Like Holmes often said of Watson, those who are not genius are at least capable of inspiring those who are genius. However dull my sidekick Peregrine Falcon is, he never fails to usually be of some use to me.
Lately I have been feeling the pressure from My Greatest Enemy. She is unusually insistent, maneuvering me into situations of pointless toil and incessant pestering. If it weren’t for the frequent visits of Peregrine Falcon, I would be at my wit’s end.
Here’s to you, my feathered friend.
